Interesting review on the Legal Research Market – due for disruption?
”Legal research has a number of signs of a space ripe for disruption. The market is stagnant and dominated by two primary vendors (LexisNexis and Thomson Reuters’s Westlaw). The core technology of online legal research has also remained largely unchanged. At the same time, a number of competitors have gathered in the wings, offering lower-priced options and (in some cases) new approaches to research. These factors caused me to ask whether or not legal research was becoming a commodity market a few months ago. The more compelling question may be whether these vendors are driving meaningful innovations.”
