Contract Business Intelligence is built on the eagerness of combining contract handling and legal work with my experience as head of a large legal department. To this we add my work in private practice and a great portion of innovation and forward looking thinking. And here we are – Contract Business Intelligence.
The first journey – the Sony years
In 2002 I got hired as Head of Legal at Sony Ericsson in Lund, Sweden – half a year into the joint venture between Sony and Ericsson which later turned into Sony Mobile. My first assignment was to establish an agreement database. There were more than 20.000 agreements piling up in the area of the legal department. It took me five years, a lot of manual work and a lot of money, but I got a lot of things in place. We established contract management routines, a simple database with 7 metadata per contract, sharing with the business and we created order. I was very proud of my team and the result because as GC I simply needed to know my agreements and I did. Thereafter I went on to other things in life and did not really think much of contracts for some years.
The new journey – Contract Business Intelligence
However, in the autumn of 2012 I decided it was time to practice law again. I did however not stop thinking about how to do contract review differently, better and more cost efficient and I started to sketch a system for effective contract review when I one day crossed road with Seal Software’s solution to discover and analyse contracts. This lead me to the starting point for Contract Business Intelligence.
We are now assisting primarily large companies to find their contracts, extract the information, review and verify the data with them and make the information ready to be distributed to those in need of knowing. We also assist in project set up, pre-studies and assessment of further contract management needs.
